Our tools of communication are continuously evolving. As designers, this presents us with challenges and opportunities. This course explores using web-based Extended Reality (XR) technologies to develop Augmented and Virtual Reality experiences. It emphasizes how we can take the tools we already know one step further and assist in designing and presenting our projects.
Typically, creating and accessing a VR or AR experience can be technically complex. This class aims to look at methodologies to extend our familiar workflows into these areas. The other focus is to explore ways to maximize accessibility for the general public without needing intense hardware or advanced experience. Beyond representing an idea, this class challenges us to think about alternative applications, shaping these technologies to suit our needs.
